How to Remove and Treat Rust DIY from Eastwood

Chemical Rust Restoration DIY video.Rust Converter stops residual rust, and turns it into a black, protective, ready-to-paint coating, without sanding

  • Best paint out there on the market.
If EXTREME CHASSIS BLACK paint is strong enough for the chassi of any vehicle it should be strong enough for my wheels. I wanted something strong and durable to paint my wheels and why not the EASTWOOD EXTREME CHASSI BLACK...!!! One can of Extreme Chassis Black did the whole job. Each wheel took 4 coats.
  • Read the instructions!
I bought this to do the engine bay and transmission crewmember on my '68 mustang. I haven't sprayed the bay yet but have done several parts such as the crewmember and steering box. It looks very similar to powberciating and is a solid coat. I covered the parts about 4 times with a few minute between coats. Jus enough to prevent runs. Do you metal prep correctly and take your time spraying and this works very well. Even the rough casting on the steering box went on well.
  • Extreme Chassis Black great paint
I used this on my 1970 corvette frame and various suspension parts after being sandblasted. I first sprayed on rust encapsaltor as a base coat. It went on ok, but i would probably use the 2 part epoxy primer if I did another frame, the epoxy primer is an awesome primer, with great adhesion. The final outcome was just simply awesome, this paint is the bomb man. I sprayed 2 coats over the encapsalator. I ended up restoring a motorcycle frame and decided to use the same system as my car, but with epoxy primer as the first coat. I highly recommend this paint, but use a spray gun & compressor. The cans are good for touch ups.
  • This stuff is great to work with!
With proper prep adhesion is great. The aerosol cans have a really good pattern, and the cans emptied all the way. This job took 2 1/2 cans of both primer and paint. Its very tough as well. I dropped a skid plate on accident and it didnt scratch or chip. Everything was taken to bare metal, and solvent cleaned alot.
  • Chassis Black
Great product, used it in the engine bay of my Ford gasser and looks killer, and it sprayed on quite well!
  • Great engine bay paint
Bought this to spray under carriage and engine bay . Sprayed with a 1.3 tip and reduced 2:1 to get a high gloss on the engine bay. Sprays smooth and leaves a nice glossy deep black finish. Be careful for runs when spraying reduced .
  • Extreme Chassis Black Gloss - Excellent
Purchased the Extreme Chassis Black Gloss to paint a few suspensin parts on my frame-off project. Probably the most expensive spray paint you will ever buy, but is far superior to any other I have used in the past. Lays down nice and coverage is excellent. If you only have a few parts to paint and don't want to break out the spray gun, this is the paint to get. The shine is great. Looks just like some powder coated pieces I have on my chassis. Seems to be very durable so far as nothing got chipped or scratched during assembly. Just be sure to use the Eastwood Chassis Black Primer first for best adhesion and durability. Over all an excellent product, just a little on the expensive side.
  • Mac
The only downside if there is one is that it isn't cheap but then if it was cheap I don't think it would be the product it is. One can does cover quite a bit because it is not watered and thinned out like a lot of spray can paints are. It sprays good, lays down good, is very durable and holds its gloss very well. It is also a black black without much of any other tint like you see in some black paints. It can be used for a lot more than just spraying frame rails and suspension parts.
  • Nice finish for my frame
This was pretty easy to spray over the rust encapsulator treated frame and the old finish. Frame really wasn't bad, southern truck. Looks like a nice consistent finish.
  • Love it!
Metal was prepared by sandblasting so it was perfectly clean. Used the Extreme Chassis Black primer and waited the recommended 24 hours prior to top coating with the gloss. After 48 hours, the paint is hard as nails and look fantastic. I'm very impressed with this product. Like any paint work, the end results are dependent on the prep work so I don't know what would happen if you don't follow the directions, if you do, it will look great.
  • Amazing Product
I am restoring a Classic Datsun Z and have used the satin extreme chassis black to coat all chassis an suspension parts. This stuff is super tough. If the part is properly prepared it sticks like glue and is very chip resistant. Happy with the coverage finish and durability.
  • Excellent
I own and have done a lot of restorations in the last 48 years. This is the first time I've used Extreme Chassis Satin Black. Great coverage and very friendly to use. I would definitely use this on all my restorations. I'm now using it on my own personal restoration.
  • Extreme Chassis Gloss Black is great!
I recently rebuilt the 12-Bolt rear end in my 99 Camaro and wanted to finish it with a coating that is durable and looks good. After a lot of research I brushed on POR-15 but was a little dissapointed with the end result. They say it is "self leveling" but I could still see where I had overlapped layers while going around the tubes and there were inconsistencies in the color. I smoothed out the POR-15 and bought two spray cans of the Extreme Chassis Black-High Gloss. Damn this stuff works great!!! Not only is it durable, but it looks like it was sprayed from a real spray gun and cleared after. I definitely recommend using this stuff on any chassis parts if you want a great appearance and don't mind spending the extra $$$ for a better quality paint than what you can get at the hardware store.
  • Another use for a great product
Two years ago I had the outdrives on my boat professionally repainted with a black epoxy paint. It cost $850. After one summer in the water, the paint had totally lifted off the outdrives--leaving only the primer. Rather than spend another $850, I cleaned them good with PRE Paint prep and tried repainting them with two coats of Extreme Chassis Balck Gloss. This fall when I pulled the boat the outdrives were intact. Just another use for a great product and it cost me less than $50!
  • Great Paint
This is actually the first thing I had ever used from Eastwood, but has not been the last. I'm currently using it to redo a Ford 8.8 rear. Disassembled the whole thing, painted the housing, and even continuously spinning the painted housing on steel jackstands throughout the reassembly process, the only damage was some scratch marks. No chips. No gouges. Really clean. Apply to a clean surface, and allow it to cure properly, and this stuff is as hard as a rock.
  • Chassis Restoration - 41'Studebaker Champion
After using different chassis paints over the years together with a wide variety of rust primers, I decided to utilize Extreme Chassis Black as my top coat and was not disappointed with the results. Prep my frame from bare metal to application of a brand name metal rust primer. Then sprayed Extreme Chassis Black with outstanding results. Great product coverage, two coats is a must to ensure proper coverage. I will use this product again, Thanks !!!
  • Great product at a great price
I purchased ths product to paint the frame on a Blazer i"m restoring. It is very easy to spray and dried to the perfect satin sheen I was wanting. Very durable and has not chipped, flaked or scratched. I can tell you that you will be extremely satisfied with this product. I've used the aerosol spray, as well, for smaller jobs, the ones that you don't want to break the spray gun out for. It is an excellent product, too.
  • Better Than Expected
Used this on my truck the past few years and the results have been favorable. The areas that I removed the rust and primed with an antirust primer are still in good shape. I painted one area that I just scraped the loose rust off and it is still looking pretty good despite all the road salt we have here. It also seems to be very chip resistant. There are just a few spots where the rust is starting to break through.
  • Extreme Chassis Black and Primer on Triumph Trophy Frame
I'm restoring an old motorcycle, and did a lot of research about what kind of paint to use for painting the frame and all of the other parts that would use the same paint. I wanted something that would look good and last for many years. I had read all of the various positive and negative results from people using powder coating, and I also wanted to keep my restoration costs within reason. I ended up choosing Eastwood's Extreme Chassis Black and primer because they were reasonably priced, and supposedly long-lasting and durable.
I first used Eastwood's Dekote to strip the original paint from the frame and parts, and then used Eastwood's Oxysolve that dissolves the rust and leaves behind a very paintable oxide finish. Both are great products. I believe their newer product is called Rust Dissolver.
For the primer and paint, I used spray cans because I didn't want to have to deal with the messy nuisance of cleaning a spray gun. After wiping down the frame, I sprayed two light to medium coats of primer, waiting 24 hours between coats. I then sprayed two medium coats of the Extreme Chassis Black Gloss Paint, again waiting 24 hours between each coat. The results are very impressive. Needless to say, I'm glad I did my research. I made sure the first coat of paint went on light to medium, and the second coat medium to heavy, leaving an even wet coat appearance, but being very careful not to lay it on too heavy in fear of running or sagging.
My only complaint is the spray nozzle. PAM no-stick cooking spray uses a much better spray nozzle design, and I have to wonder why automotive paints don't use this same type.
I gave this product a 4 for quality only because of the spray nozzle.
Would I use this product again? You bet!
  • Ray
    Exellent product
This is my first time using Eastwood products and I'm very pleased with the results. I wire brushed my frame, wiped down with PRE, applied their Rust Encapsulator with a foam brush then sprayed two coats of Extreme Chassis Black Satin. Very easy to spray, almost impossible to get a run. If I had to do again, I would use same products except I would spray. It looks great.
  • Great Looking Finish
I have used Extreme Chassis Black for several years and really like the way it looks. I have used it on my Dodge Dakota which I drive in the winter. We use a lot of salt on the roads here and after four years it has held up beautifully. I go off road frequently on gravel roads and dirt roads and the chip resistance of this paint is very good. Overall a very good product.
  • Extreme Gloos and Satin
Outstanding product. I am rebuilding the engine compartment of a 1970 chevelle and am using the high gloss on the upper and lower control arms. It goes on very easy and looks great. Looks alot better that I thought. I also used the Extreme satin on the frame and I am very happy with that. Even after putting on the new parts the paint holds up. Both are great products.
  • Holds up great
I used this product on the X frame of a 1958 impala and it shows great. I always read reviews before buying a product and some people says it will wrinkle or not lay on properly. If you prep your surfaces correctly it will lay out perfect with an amazing finish. Recommended it to a friend and he said the same thing, great product. 5*!
  • fantastic
this stuff is just what i needed. did the whole frame on my 79 trans am with 1 and 1/2 cans "thats 3 coats by the way" the price isn't that bad for what you get. i used there encapsulator primer as a base and this as a top. Ive hit the frame with a hammer "by accident" and nothing, no damage. great stuff will by constantly.
  • Factory finish in a can (or better)!!
During the rebuild of the front end of our '71 Javelin, it became obvious that we would need to repaint all of the "hard" front end pieces after stripping of year of sludge, etc. I reached for the Extreme Chassis Black and sprayed all parts. Gotta say, was the right choice. The front end pops, and the finish is super durable.
  • So far great product.
Restoring 61 willys truck, steamed, sandblasted, wiped down real good with the prep, sprayed 2 coats of encapsulator, and top coated, with extreme chassis black on entire frame and all suspension parts, when on great, and looks great. I was able to empty every spray can. Will be calling in another order soon.
  • Great stuff
I used this for coating the entire front end of a race car. I used the Rust Encapsulator, followed by the Chassis Black primer and finished with the Satin Extreme Chassis Black. It was the perfect sheen, and has so far been very durable. I've dropped tools directly on it and have yet to see a chip.
Great product. I used the Gloss Black. Superb finish. Had friends look at frame after it was sprayed and they could not believe I used a spray can. Frame was sandblasted and then primed with Eastwood primer and then top coated with the Extreme Chassis Black. Thanks Eastwood for a great product.
I used this product in the past while the engine was removed from my 90 GMC Sierra SLE 1 Ton Dually. I do a mini restoration every time I work on a vehicle. It has a ZZ509 racing crate engine that is tuned port injected. PERFECT SLEEPER for the import tuners to smell some exhaust, :-)
  • Excellent Product
Used this as a top coat for various parts. Goes on easy with a foam brush. Leaves a very glossy almost powdercoated look. If you like using a brush on product for chassis parts this is it. Def surprised at how great it covered, and left such a awesome looking finish. Recommended
  • not just for cars
I found another awesome use for the chassis black... I did over all my expensive cast aluminum outdoor furniture that was originally powdercoated. what an amazing finish in satin. I aso went on to refinish all my wrought iron gates and fence around the house...beautiful!!!
  • Stop chassis rust & erosion
I love this stuff. I work on many projects for myself & others. Wire brush the surface rust, wipe it as clean as I can with Prep, spray it with Encapsulator, & spray it a couple days late with Extreme Chassis Black. The chassis is effectively sealed; next job!
  • Great Paint
Used Extreme primer then Gloss to paint misc.tubular frame parts & Interior parts such as seat frame and trim. This stuff is Tuff, very resistant to scraching and chipping. Keep up the great work Eastwood. Oh-- Your Shipping is second to none! Thanks, John
  • Great product
This is the first time I have used Eastwood products and I'm impressed. Easy to use, goes on well. Used it on my sub frame for my 1978 Trans Am. I used the Satin but I feel it's a bit too shinny I guess time and the road will take care of the shine.
  • Extreme chassis black satin
When parts are prepped correctly this paint looks great and has just the right amount of gloss to it. I'm actually using it in the engine bay because I like the finished look better than the under hood black. (Firewall, p/s pump pulleys etc.)
  • Good stuff
Eastwoods products almost always impress me. The Extreme chassis black sprays great and covers well. Its pretty damn durable. If you prep well and if your not re assembeling your car with a hammer and chisel you wont chip it easily
  • Great product
I was rehabbing a small utility trailer and after spraying with a quart of Chassis Black needed a bit more for touch up so ordered same in this spray. Product worked great and of course matched nicely with the satin from the quart.
  • Chassis Black Paint
I have bought and used this product and absolutely love it. In a wet condition the accidental overspray just blends and is forgiving. I truly love to use this paint and will continue to use it for my restore projects.
  • Great Product
Utilized this product for motorcycle parts - fork legs, triple trees, etc. Easy to shoot without runs, etc. Takes longer to apply than the cheap stuff due to the 24 hours between coats but worth the wait!
  • Great product
Easy to use, doesn't require a paint gun dries fairly quickly and best of all looks amazing. Even better when used with Eastwood clear coat. Used it on my 67 and 68 Camaro chassis and couldn't be happier.
  • Almost like Powdercoat in a can
paint adheres to surfaces very well. it is thick enough that it has a powdercoat-like quality. Seems like it grabs on to the surface with good prep of course. Nice quality sheen to the paint. Thank you!
  • Extreme Chassis Black
Can't say enough about this product. The coverage, sheen and durability are all outstanding. Three cars, a couple cabinet bases and untold 'parts' later and never left wanting more. Great product.
I've used this product for years on several projects. Can't say enough about eastwood products.I don't use anything but on my toys.If you read the instructions and do as it says it works beautiful.
  • Good Stuff
This is the third car I have used this product on, and it's wonderful. Great adhesion, super color and probably the best there is. Delivery was quick and accurate as well. Eastwood rocks!
  • extreme chassis black satin finish
I have used this product on some of my builds when I don't want to use my spray gun it looks great last long and is very durable it is a great way to go for a good looking under carriage
  • Great Produc
This product is a great coating to use on the chassis of your vehicle. It brings back the look of the original vehicle. Properly prepped and coated your chassis will be well protected.
  • Great product
This is the best paint I have ever sprayed from a rattle can. The spray nozzle gives a professional spray pattern and leaves the end product with a great finish that is very durable.
  • Very Durable
I have used this on different restoration projects and was happy with the outcome as was the customers. This last time I used it to redo my wrought iron railing and it looks new.
  • Great product.
I do several restorations or underside detailing of cars per year. Chassis black products cover extremely well in one coat. This is the best underside paint I have ever used.
  • Easy to use, nice finish. 1979 Firebird chassis
This satin black chassis paint went on easy and looks great when complete. Applied to the underside of the entire car including the rear drive axle. The shipping was quick.
  • Chassis Black High Gloss
Outstanding gloss. Project still looks wet long after it's dry. We don't color sand half as many parts as we did because of this product's very smooth, high gloss finish.
  • Excellent Coverage and smooth finish
I have been using it on Frame and suspicion parts after blasting and primer and it flows great and fills surfaces and gives a pro finish as far as I am concerned.
  • Good Stuff
I used this paint on my bare axle housing with no primer and it went on great, looks awesome too, only time will tell on it's durability, but so far I'm satisfied
  • Eastwood Rocks!
Once again Eastwood delivered ahead of estimated time and product was shipped protected and safe. Satin finish was as described and Jeep frame looks great!
  • very pleased
Have used similar products in the past, but this by far is easier to work with, has a great spray pattern, which gave me more paint per can. nice finish.
  • professional finish
Great product, i used it in the engine accessories such as brackets, pulley and other parts of suspension, leaves a nice glossy deep black
  • Works very well
I am restoring a 71 M G B. The finish looks great, sticks very well, and has resisted some abuse, not flaking off. What more could you want.
  • great finish
this paint went on with ease and the finish is perfect, looks awesome. Painted front springs and dropped one after dry, not even a chip!
  • Like New
Great product. The chassis looks like it is brand new. Once prepped and coated correctly, you will never have to worry about it again.
  • Awesome paint
I tried this after using another brand with poor results. It sprayed really well with no problems flowed great and nice shine.
  • les
    looks great
I sprayed it on, and then brushed it on. I recommend brushing it on. it doesn't leave brush marks and goes a lot further!
  • Excellent Product
I've been using this product since it became available and recommend it for all your restoration projects.
  • Nice finish
Very durable, covers nice, I actually use it under the hood for the fire wall and pulleys, p/s pump etc.
  • Tremendous Product
Chassis Black is spectacular, excellent coverage per coat. Great finish, smooth, run free, and durable.
  • excellent product
the chassis black sprays great and lays done a nice even coat the best nozzle I've used in a spray can
  • Good product
I used por15 rust preventative as base and this as the top coat, coverage is really good and durable.
  • Excellent Product
Product meets all expectations. When the time comes, I wii reorder this product again.
  • Excellent Product
've this on chassis and wheels and it holds up great. Super durable and high gloss.
  • Excellant Product
Excellent Product Good value Service a little slow close enough for the post office
  • chassis paint
Was a bit expensive but after using this product found it to be worth every penny.
  • Extreme Chassis Black Aerosol
I have bought several times and it has been an excellent product every time.
  • good coverage

  • Great product
covered well went further than I expected, easy to use very satisfied
  • good product good service
Extreme Black Chassis paint works well and seem very durable.
  • Great Product!
I bought this paint to do a bunch of small parts that couldn't go to the powder coater for one reason or another. I treated the parts that were bare metal with After Blast for a few minutes then washed with the PRE paint prep, the E-coated parts were just washed with PRE paint prep. After that I warmed up the parts and the paint cans to help thing go a little better. I used the Extreme Chassis Primer first and applied 3-4 coats on all of the parts. In between coats I would run a blow drier over them to keep everything warm, that helped the primer flash to where I could apply a new coat every 20-30 minutes. After all the parts were primed I heated everything back up with a blow drier and started painting with the Extreme Chassis Black Satin. The first coat was a mist, just enough to lightly cover the parts, then blow drier to help flash. Next 2 coats were medium, blow drier between each coat to help flash. After 3 good coats and final blow drying I took the parts inside my house in the spare bedroom to cure. The inside temps are kept about 68-70, garage is anywhere from 40-50 this time of year. I got really good results with the finished product applying the paints this way. I broke up the work into manageable chunks so I didn't feel rushed while applying this product which I think helped a whole lot.
Along with all the parts I was painting I did a test piece. After a few days of cure time I ran it through a little destructive test, sanding, beating, lacquer thinner, acetone, gas, brake fluid and brake cleaner. The paint does come off, not that easy though. The paint will handle a fair amount of abuse before it just goes to bare metal again. I will definitely handle the occasional tool drops and gas/chemical spills contrary to other off the shelf rattle can paints.
Summary of the actual product: I read a lot of reviews before buying the Eastwood paints. A lot of people said the cans died early, some said the paint spit and sputtered and didn't spray good. I didn't have 1 issue with any paint cans, actually the opposite is true. 1 can of this stuff goes a mile! I was amazed at how much I was able to get done with 1 can. I painted all of my steering components, axle flanges, steering box and some small brackets with 1 can (3 good coats each). I bought 6 thinking I would use 2 or 3 and have leftovers, now I have 5 leftover. The paint sprayed nice and even, nice fan pattern and laid out really good. I am by no means a pro with paint, I would say that anyone that used this stuff and followed the directions would get a nice finished product. I also read a lot that the sheen of the Chassis Black Satin is a little too glossy for OE restorations. Maybe so but I really like the finish of it and it lends itself better to keeping it clean, as opposed to flat or matte. Now I will say this after using this line of products, hind sight I would have gone with the Eastwood 2K line. Not that the Extreme line is not good but to have a true 2 part paint system in my mind would've been a better choice. The price difference is negligible between the Extreme and 2K, and if you are even looking into the Extreme line you must be willing to pony up to invest in a better product than the hardware or auto parts store paints. Either way the Eastwood paints are good stuff, maybe not the best but definitely up there quality wise.
  • Great product.
Paint dries smooth and even. Looks very close to powdercoat. I always keep some handy. You have to wipe down the spray tip after use though, or it WILL clog.
  • Impressed for paint
When you compare Extreme Chassis Black to powder coating its a fair price and the paint is way more durable than Krylon or Rustoleum that will chip if you look at it wrong. Before clear coat it was easy to chip the new paint on any car made by just driving down the road and hitting bugs. Paint is there to protect from rust and takes prep time that no one wants to do so work in involved. Also use lots of masking tape around the area you are assembling to avoid chips during assembly.
  • Looks like Powdercoating
I am very pleased with the results (See pictures of befor and after) I used this on the subframe and rear differential. I powerwashed and lightly sanded everything to get it clean and smooth. Everything was dissasembled and the components were individually sprayed and reassembled to ensure all surfaces were treated to prevent rust bleading through later. TIP.. Make sure the metal is not cold when spraying and you will achieve great results. Thanks!!
  • Well Covered
When your looking for a coating that gives greater protection against the elements, there is not another product out there that endures the elements against degradation, at a quality level as Eastwood Chasis . Black. Eastwood is able to provide three different levels for your budget. This is a keen value. I choose to use the Extreme Black Chasis, instead of the ceramic because I have an older vechile of not much value left, however; I wanted a coating that would be a little more impervious and lasting for the years to come. If a vechile is to last 5 years, or more from now, I believe it is worth the investment to coat even the parts you repair and replace, aside from a restoration, ....especially in colder climates where degradtion is a prevelant factor. Any job is worth doing well, Eastwood certaintly has done there homework in experience compared to many other companies out their!
  • works as said
my hitch on my 98 ranger took a beating this winter so i purchase the rust encapsulator and the extreme chassis black once i clean the loss rust and wipe any oil and dirt away i sprayed the encapsulator and let it dry for 8 hrs and top coated the hitch with the extreme chassis black when real nice better than i though it would and even thow its only been a week snice it still looks wet
  • GM
    Easy to use
Appreciate the fact that no thinning is necessary. Sprays on well and produces a nice finish. I used a couple of thin coats and got decent coverage with a low cost pressure gun. I did notice in a humid environment that this can take quite a while to dry fully so plan accordingly.
I applied 4 hours after spraying rust encapsulator and it worked well.
  • Great product
Chassis black is one of those products that never quite lays down evenly or correctly. But this one does...if you follow the directions. Once applied according to the directions, you will have even color and hue. It is very pleasing to look at. One down side, it should really sit for 24 hours before handling the parts so the paint fully cures.
  • '69 Corvette frame on resto
The Extreme Chassis paint in the spray bomb covers real well. I used Rustoleum Rusty Metal primer even thought the frame really wasn't rusty. Even thought the paint is a "little" pricy, I think it is worth it. There is a lot of coverage from one can. I bought 2 and I think it will be enough. I also bought a qt. can "just in case."
  • Tough Paint
I used this on the undercarriage of my truck. So far it has gone through two winters and the majority of it still looks good. Even the places where I didn't use any primer still look pretty good. We use a lot of road salt here so I have been pleased with this product. I also like the satin sheen
  • Great Paint but tricky to work with
I love Eastwood paint, the quality is IMHO unmatched in the world of Rattle Cans.
That said, you need to know how to use it to get the most out of it. I finished blasting my VW tinware, used AfterBlast, lightly sanded, and primed. My first pieces came out almost full Gloss. Called the tech center and they said if you lay on too thick the flatteners sink and you are left with a super shine. Sure enough after a light sand reapplied two coats, and was very happy with the Satin finish.
I then noticed that the finish looked rough like the paint wasn't settling smooth. Called the tech center and they said if the stated environment conditions were not right OR if the paint was cold, this may happen. Sure enough after I stuck the can in a bucket of hot water for about 3 minutes, shook again, the paint went on and dried nice and smooth.
Some complain about these paints as if they were being compared to spray gun pro paint. THEY'RE NOT. This is just very good spray paint, just read the directions.
  • I like it!
Great paint, very durable with a smooth finish. I used "Satin" but it came out more of a semi gloss. A drawback would be that it requires 24 hours between coats. I would suggest that Eastwood use an EZ sprayer nozzle like those found on Krylon brand cans which offer great paint control.
  • Good Performance
This product is easy to apply and dries to a very nice finish. I've used it on various vehicles over the past 15 years with very good results. It is quite expensive though. I wish Eastwood would drop the price to around $13.00 per can - seems a bit more reasonable
  • Easy to use chassis gloss black
The extreme chassis gloss black is very easy to use right out of the can no thinning nesesary. I would recommend this product to everyone its great. I am just starting my project and talking with the eastwood company makes it a lot easer. Thank you for the help.
  • BJ
    Great paint
Love this paint, I used extreme chassis black satin on my C10 resto. Lays down very nice and has a great satin look. My only problem is that there shipping rates are extremely high
  • Great shine
Goes on Smooth and applies with ease. I am very happy with the final results. I originally started painting my frame matte black, but after using the Extreme chassis Black on the rear end housing I decided to paint the frame black high gloss also.
  • wow
I rebuilt the front end of a '67 Catalina, and the spindles and control arms were a mess. Cleaned and degreased, primed with rust encapsulator and finished with this. I'm just amazed at how she looks now. Like better then factory.
  • Good quality, finish, durability
I have used the original chassis black and while it was very good, this version is more durable and the spray nozzles are improved. Temperature is important so be sure to follow the instructions on temperature range for painting.
  • Great Paint, but very expensive!
I have been using this chassis paint for years on my restoration projects and it has performed well. However, the buyers club shipping program was recently discontinued so I will not purchase here again!
  • Great product
Sprays on easy, tough as nails. A little pricy, but if it last like advertised, well worth it. Wish it came in a 6 pack as 12 cans is a lot and you don't get a volume discount unless you order 12.
  • Next Time Ceramic
In general i was satisfied with the product....Although the chip resistance was not as good as I desired....Will try the 2K Ceramic Chassis Black next time.
