Wet powder coating method for cast bullets

This is how I coat my lead cast bullets with powder coat. I never had much luck with the dry tumbling method so I tried and eventually came out with this. Many round down the barrel I decided to share it.

  • WOW!
I used this powder on a suspension spring and I'm blown away by the result! From a few feet away it's almost impossible to distinguish from a real chrome plated spring. Up close the appearance looks like chrome that simply needs a wipe. I also coated a valve cover with less spectacular results.in order for this powder to look good the object you're coating has to be PERFECTLY smooth. The valve cover has some rust pitting and it really shows. This is a GREAT product!
  • I like it!
Did my oil pan with it and it came out perfect. Also a perfect match for the Aluminum engine enamel I also got from Eastwood.
  • Worth a look
Not a bad item; if you're expecting 'chrome', you'll be disappointed, as the finished part looks like polished aluminum with a slightly milky clearcoat over it. This will show any flaws in the part, so prep is important. The only real issue I had was on cast/forged iron/steel parts, as the color came out darker and I had 'mottling' on a few parts. Looks very good on steel sheetmetal. Lots cheaper than plating, so it's worth a look.
  • Great product
Great looking product. It is very simple to apply ,and good coverage. I am going to do alot of engine parts with this, Thanks
  • Great Stuff
I'm not sure what reflective chrome is supposed to look like but I continue to be impressed with it. I've used it for numerous parts on motorcyles and decided to try doing a frame in it. It turned out great and is almost to shiny for by liking, but will be fine when all the parts are reinstalled.
  • Wasn't too sure at first
I wasn't sure about this powder at first because of a few bad reviews, but once I got the first item coated and cured I was sold!! Not only did I coat the second part of a pair, but the wife now has me doing other parts on the rebuilt engine for her rebuilt MGB
  • Not quite what I expected but still a nice finish.
was hoping for a more reflective finish but turned out more of a gloss silver or polished aluminum look. At a distance it could pass as chrome but up close it looks more like polished aluminum, without all the work. Eastwood's tech support recommended using V-Twin black as a base coat and then doing the chrome as a top coat, that is the way to go. I've tried the V-Twin base and just using the chrome only, V-Twin and chrome top coat is the way to go.
  • smooth
works very well flows out great, pre-heat parts to 200f,,,,,, nice shine
  • looks nice poor exterior
this goes on nice and looks awesome when cured, but fades in sunlight after a short period time(6months). Works great for interior parts
