  • The best you can get in an Aerosol can
I recently saw a video on how to get professional results from a rattle can online. This was a professional auto painter, and he was just trying to help us consumers save some time and money. Although he had never tried this method before his results were similar to his shop work with an air gun. One of his main emphases was to use a 2 part Clear. Well, I took his advice and went with Eastwood high gloss clear to finish my factory Saab wheels. After a good sanding with 320 I used a filler primer to cover any low areas (deep scratches) that needed attention. I used a metallic paint from rust-oleum, and Eastwood's 2K Aero-Spray high gloss clear with amazing results.
  • This was my first time using this product!
The application was very easy. This is was the first time I ever clear coat anything, but after watching a few videos about applying and how far to hold the can from your surface this product really shined! LITERALLY! I would use this again and again! For the best results I recommend using this product indoors like a garage or shop, also wear a CHEMICAL MASK! Always be safe. I've attached some photos of my front bumper I just finished painting and clear coating. I have to say this product is amazing! The best you can get in an Aerosol can

  • great! they call me the can man! lol
I have used it two time and both jobs turned out great! One can of clear did a gas tank two small fenders you can use almost any bass coat with this clear.
  • Couldnt be happier
This clear coat is awesome. It lays down super easy and the tip stayed functional through the whole can. Initially it looked like ti was going to have a lot of orange peel but as the coats settled in and the paint bound to itself, this three coat clear laid down really flat for having come out of a can. my motorcycle tank still looks dripping wet days later. Im really happy with the clear.
  • Best clear in a can!
This is the best option if you can't spray clear coat from a spray gun. Spray gun will be a cost savings over time but I just don't have the space right now and this saves me money from taking my masks to a body shop for clear coat. you do have to use the can up pretty quickly but I just wait and do two masks at once. I have been able to push the pot time but putting the can in a zip lock bag in the fridge. not sure if the company would condone that practice. I do love the Eastwood 2K clear, even over SprayMaxx. Eastwood costs less and I feel like it flows a little better. Not sure why but it is at least the same as the other brand so you might as well buy the cheaper option.
  • Great results
The tail gate on my Dodge RAM was looking BAD... a poor paint job from a previous owner had the clear coat failed miserably, so I figured I couldn't make it look worse. I sanded down the tailgate, sprayed fresh primer, a few cans of color matching PS2 silver and then two cans of 2K Clear, and I'm totally happy with the results. Two cans was enough to give 4 coats over the whole tailgate. Easy to use, nice spray pattern. The only negative was the spray tip on one of the cans arrived broken, but I was able to pull out the broken piece and use the good tip from the other can. Pleased with the results, I'm going to redo a side fender next!
  • The best clear ever plus a superior spray can!!
It's been years since I had a spray gun in my hand and sprayed a two-part paint onto a car, so I have experience using them. Since then, I have used probably a few hundred rattle cans for small odd jobs around the house and garage, this product is the very best I have ever used!!! The can is pure genius! The spray pattern is extremely precise; like a small detail spray gun. It's easy to control and the pressure and pattern are pre-set. No splatter or application problems. The paint was easy to apply and just as predictable as anything you mix in the paint room in a shop. The flash coats laid up nice and even. The final wet coats were beautiful! Dry time was as expected, and could be handled in several hours and wet-sanded in a bit over 24 hours (finish drying was done with some heat from a 600w portable oil filled radiator)
I applied the 2K clear over an epoxy finish, sanding with 600 to remove imperfections and promote adhesion. I laid a few mist coats followed by a few final wet coats. The results were PERFECTION!!!
  • Great option for small repairs!
I used this to touch up a bumper with peeling clear coat, and also used it to refinish a set of headlights (after wetsanding the yellowed coating off) and also refinish a pair of wheels with checked clear coat. I wasn't expecting perfection as these are daily driven cars, but I'm impressed with the results. IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO CURE, but once it does, it appears to be very durable. It's also very forgiving and lays smooth without runs. Recommend 100%
  • The Best Rattle Can Product in the market!
I came across the eastwood product while researching a better quality clear coat. This is 2nd time I have had to paint my motorcycle tank/fairings. The 1st time I used Walmart products and you could really tell! I bought the eastwood 2k primer and clear with high hopes. This stuff did not disappoint! The spray pattern and overall feel of the product is way above anything I have used. The stuff is expensive but definatly worth every penny! You do have to use within 48 hours but that's plent of time, just have everything planned!
  • Fantastic Product
Well took me a minute to figure out that the catalyst (cross linking agent) goes in the bottom of the can. I had purchased some color matched paint in a spray can to repaint my bumper but could only find gloss top coating that had to be applied with a paint sprayer and compressor until I found this. Two light coats (1st coat dried within 10 minutes on a 68 degree day in the sun) and the gloss was far superior to the 13 year old paints gloss. I let the coating cure for 48 hours after applying and when I washed the car I was surprised to see the water bead up on the bumper even though I had not waxed it yer. I am super satisfied with this product. Wish it came in a smaller can because after you add the catalyst you must use it within 48 hours or throw it away.
  • Excellent for my application
This product was perfect for my application. I had a contract for a small run of custom parts used for training. The parts required a durable clear gloss finish over the airbrushed water based color coat. The clear was well atomized and produced a flawless finish. The clear set quickly even in 55 degree temp and left a hard high gloss finish.
  • THE BEST OF THE BEST
I repainted the trunk on my Lexus with a gun (my first time) went very well, i did not wanna use clear outta a gun so ive read all the reviews on here and saw the videos on youtube, so i bought it, WOW!! GREAT STUFF! You get what u pay for, i've been rattle canning auto parts and rims for ages, this clear WILL NOT haze up on you like every other clearcoat i've used in my life, it goes on WET and dries WET, no haze, no orange peel, just flawless, and i havent even wet sanded yet, very impressed would buy again in a heartbeat worth every penny, large fan spray and good coverage, Eastwood knocked it out the park i've never seen clear lay like this, i did 3 coats on my rear trunk until i was out, i love this stuff!!!!!!!!!!
  • Awesome product!!!!!!
  • Great paint
I was a little cautious at fiirst about this product. I have used other rattlecan clear coats and they really didn't do anything. The clear coat was used to cover a custom paint job on my Turbo Coupe and performed excellent. The 2k clear coat was very easy to use and not only did it dry hard and shinny but I has a flash time of 2 hours. It's a little expensive but I will use it again and I would recommend it to everyone.
  • NEXT BEST THING
bought this to change the color of my alloy wheels. I needed a clear coat that would be at professional standards so I took a chance. The results are so amazing and the shine is crazy. My Corvette looks like it's speeding standing still. Thanks!!!
  • Great repair product
5 year old Wrangler developed a case of clear coat bubbling. Seems like either the dealer or Chrysler did a bandaid fix on it before I bought it new. I have sprayed a few cars in my time, but never attempted to "fix" a spot clear coat problem. Used the gray abrasive pad, and 1000 grit wet and dry to create the bond. This stuff sprayed as well as from my Devilbis guns. It glossed immediately, even in a pretty bad application environment (wrangler half in my garage, with California Santa Ana winds starting up). Ya, I know that is not a bright move on my part, but this stuff made it work against the odds. Another super Eastwood product. Got to also thank Kevin Tetz for his videos on prep, well worth the effort!
  • Yes, use this
As a full time artist i use sprays on a daily basis. i used the aero-spray on my bike tank after failing with another product. the aero-spray killed it + prompted others to ask if i had the tank powder coated.
  • Best Clear Coat I ever used
Used this on my motorcycle and it turned out great! Goes on easy without all the hassle of cleaning a spray gun when your done.
  • Clear Coat for my FRC Corvette
Guys, this is by far the best clearcoat I have ever used !It lays down a gorgeous clear that looks to be a foot deep!It is hard, can be sanded and polished,I was very, very impressed!
  • 2K Clear wonder paint
Lately, I've been blown away by the new coatings that Eastwood is offering, and the 2K clear is no exception. I refinished my 3-piece Speedline wheels, and the inner barrel was refinished with their Silver Cadmium (which matched the original finish (EXACTLY) and then I shot the finish with the 2K clear. Looks absolutely amazing. Thanks, Eastwood!
  • Awesome
Bought this to protect a flat and gloss black motorcycle tank and was worried about gas attacking the clear. Spilled gas (of course) on the tank and didn't get a chance to clean it for about 10 min and the clear worked like gangbusters! Soap and water to clean and it looks like it almost never happened. Awesome product!
  • easier to use and as good as conventional hvlp
stated pot life is 48 hours but it was still useable on the 4th day after activation. Tremendous value for the price.
  • Awesome
Is rock hard; makes faded wheels look new. This is so much easier than mixing and shooting with a gun
  • worked great
got th e2k clear so i could go over my black gloss hi heat spray and frame paint for my bike . preped work area and masked up . process was easy if you have practice with a can . went on easy & looks great . after fully dried i put in sun and its hard shinny clear just like i wanted. no hazy spray no spatter or runs . I will most likely pick up a second can as i need to re clear a spoiler on the sion
  • Excellent product!
I had a metal art project and needed to clear coat bare metal. Actually 2 different metals copper and stainless steel side by side. I also needed it to be tough. This is the ONLY product that claimed to do what I wanted. It cured faster than expected which is beneficial when spraying in the garage. (Less particle accumulation from the air). One word of caution, make sure you have enough on hand to finish what you start. I had my project looking very good by spraying three passes on a 2ft X 4ft flat piece of metal. It dried and looked so good I wanted to do it again to ensure toughness but ran out of the clear coat before I could make that 3rd and final pass and most all of the second coat orange peeled on me. Strangely enough it gave the project a unique and appealing look to the customer. Got lucky on that one! Next time I'll buy 2 cans instead of one!
  • Good Product
I use this high gloss clear on motorcycle gas tanks because it is the only clear coat in a spray can that I have found that will standup to gasoline. Others I have tried will totally dissolve in gasoline, this stuff is impervious to gasoline. It goes on very nice with a smooth finish that requires very little buffing. One can will cover a gas tank and two side panels with some to spare.
  • Good coating, expensive, limited coverage
I bought two cans to clear coat my powder coated bumpers on my '64 C20. It worked out great at one can per bumper....a dry coat and two wet coats. But that is far from the advertised coverage of 25-35 sq. ft. The paint went on easily and flowed out well. Looks good and will just need a little buffing and polishing.
  • Works Great
I used the matte finish on some repainted truck bumpers. Good spray delivery from the can and getting an even coat was pretty easy. I used the 2K Gloss on a motorcycle restoration a couple of years ago and it has held up great. I expect the same long term results with the matte finish.
  • Ease of use
I used the next day after receipt with excellent results on some tubing assemblies. Even application with no clogging and spray difficulties. Didn't use the whole can so don't know about end of can application. I recommend for small projects just follow the can instructions.
  • covers smooth
My Son helped me on my 40 Chevy ,clearcoat flaking so we wet sanded 1000 grit.Too far gone now it has some patina and protected from rust. This clear sprayed even and lays flat no orange peel.If possible do this inside garage.GREAT STUFF!
  • Was surprised this came out of a can!
The clear coat turned out great on my dirt bike frame. Couldn't afford a decent spray gun yet, heard about the 2k clear in a rattle can, thought I would give it a try. Turned out it was a good choice, will buy again for small projects.
  • Great look and durable
I used the Hi Gloss on a motorcycle tank, fenders and frame a couple of years ago. I did a little wet sanding between coats. The finish is great. I've seen for myself that it is completely resistant to fuel spills. I'll keep using it.
  • Great Alternative to a Spray Gun
This product sprayed great and wet sanded and polished like an automotive clear. I highly recommend it as an alternative to using a spray gun.
  • Spray gun quality
This was a great solution to doing some clear touchup work on my painting project. The clear laid down great and with minimum orange peel
  • like this product
It works just like a spray gun a no brainer had a few runs but the overall finish was great I would buy this product again!
  • Next Best Product to Powder Coat!
I use it for restoration of 1950's Tonka toys, 1940's/50's Hobart grinders, and early vintage fans. Well worth the price.
  • Great Product
Have used this before. Easy to use, can spray even though I have RA. Beautiful finish. Pot life depends on temperature.
  • Excellent Stuff!
Used this over the 2K high build primer for the interior of a race car. It's perfect. Loved it. Wear a respirator!
  • Excellent product
This product has a great spray pattern and end result was a smooth high gloss finish.
