I bought 7 cans of this to respray my Camaro in the barn. I don't have a spray fun setup so this was my choice. I will say this, I took it to a body shop to get an estimate for paint and the guy asked" who done the primer sealer job" when I told him I did it with an aerosol can, he laughed and said yea right, that smile turned to a frown when I pulled one of the cans out of the seat, he said it was a professional looking job and he didn't think aerosol cans could do that, I told him Eastwood.com and now I believe he is using that primer today and shaving money of the overhead, he even gave me a heck of a deal in a paint job. We are buddies now. Thanks Eastwood for a great product and ill be a customer for life.
I have used several of these cans on various small parts. I can't speak to the quality of the paint itself. However, the cans spray very well and it seems to work quite well. It is expensive, but for me it is more convenient for smaller parts than setting up a makeshift spray booth, cleaning gun, etc. One reviewer was skeptical about how the epoxy could continue to spray after several days. This reviewer seemed to imply that maybe the paint itself wasn't epoxy. I believe this reviewers concerns are misguided. I've worked with several catalyzed epoxies and they tend to have a pretty long pot life. Also, I did a test on a spray panel and it passed the lacquer/reducer test. Meaning I let it dry then wiped it with a rag soaked in lacquer thinner and then reducer. Like I said, I cannot speak to how well the primer will hold up over time, but it has been a good product so far.
This stuff is awesome. Yes there good be more in the can but as an epoxy paint it's the best I have used. It covers great and sands out perfect. Follow the directions and you won't have a problem. I never have had any trouble with any cans not performing. I have used 10 cans so far.
I used 5 cans on my CJ 7 Jeep today. Product is fantastic!!! You do have to go slow for full coverage, and it does not look like in need a second coat. I had to use all 5 cans though. But for $100 I could not beat it since I do not have air set up at my house. Goes on real well when you go slow and overlap. I could not be happier, and saved a ton by priming myself.
Great product.. This primer covers great and sands the next day like magic. Be sure to wear a mask and shoot within 8 to 10 inches or you get overspray on fresh paint. Can holds 2 oz. more than your color paint can so be sure to buy enough paint to cover.
After cleaning bare metal I applied this primer. It covers fast and builds up quickly. The use of a respirator is not optional with this product.
I used it to prime the tailgate of my truck. It's a lot easier than messing around with a spray gun. One can was enough to do 2 coats. I prefer the gray to a can of black I used previously which seemed to be thinner and splattered a lot.
Worked well for a small job I had. Did have an issue with one can not spraying correctly, but after messing with the nozzle it began spraying correctly. Nice to have when you have a small job and don't want to mess with mixing and cleaning.
I used this paint on an antique engine restoration. It sprayed on nice and evenly, with a nice sized pan spray pattern. The pot life of this paint allowed me to paint one evening and paint other parts the next evening out of the same can
I used this product on a set of wheelie bars and it covered well. Use of a respirator is not optional. The one I bought from Eastwood worked well and saved my lungs.
Excellent product. The epoxy was spread very easily and had great coverage. Had much better luck with the epoxy compared to the rat rod 2k paint.
I received one can of this primer yesterday and tried it today on a steel tube chassis subframe. After preparing the surface by sandblasting and cleaning thoroughly with solvent, I activated the can as the directions described. The spray nozzle is FAR better than any spray can that I've ever used. Other manufacturers should license it. The can does not cover a large area but it is perfect for small jobs where it isn't worth the effort to use a spray gun and then have to clean it. Great product!
I used one can on a spoiler and didnt want to go through the hassle of cleaning my paint gun so for what I did the can was actually cheaper than buying paint, catalyst and cleanup. The can spray pattern was the best I have ever used. The paint wet sands great. It would be expensive for a large area but for the spoiler it saved time. No complaints.
I bought this for a few small items. The spec sheet says 25-35 sq ft coverage. I was doing alot of small brackets and bars, so my coverage was a bit less, allot was lost in overspray. Shelf life is 48 hours, but I used it all in one shot. Looks just the the material sprayed from the quart. Sporayed nice and layed down nice
Used it over the weekend, you have to move a little slow with it or else youll shoot it kinda dry with orange peel. Toward the end of the can it can start to spit. I would suggest not to use the last little bit of it. Use it wisely not a whole lot in it. I will buy this again without hesitation.
One thing about rattle can paint is if you think you have shook it long enough shake it 2 to 3 minutes longer. This paint worked really good and I am really pleased with the out come. For those who have had problems with the paint you just didn't shake it long enough. I hope to buy more. Thanks
While there is no substitute for a nice HVLP gun, this is about as close as you can get. Plan on using at least two cans of primer and four of color to spray an engine compartment. It works excellent for what it is.
Great product! great adhesion and cures relatively fast. Top coated with extreme chassis black. Finish looks great and very scratch resistant. Yes you MUST wear a respiratory.
As a beginner who can not use a spray gun, i used this in my engine bay and it was great! It sprays wide and even. The end result looks great, no complaints!
This stuff is nice to work with. I used it on a fire wall, and misc. small parts, and I'm glad that I did. I'll use it again
This primer in a can works very well. Only problem is they don't very far for the money
works fantastic didn't have an issue works better then the etching primer
Great product. The nozzle is awesome and the Epoxy laid down nice and flat and recoats really well. I would say it would be helpful if cure time and recoat times were included on the can labels, but you can figure it out as the coats start to tack up. This primaer made a great base layer for doing my body work underneath. one can was perfect for my motorcycle tank.
I bought this stuff a bit skeptical but man, am I pleased! The nozzle is adjustable and works perfect. This stuff sprays on like a paint gun and has a really smooth finish once applied. The only negative is the price and the fact that once you bust a can open, you have to use it within 48 hours. I'd buy it again if I needed to!
This was the first time I sprayed epoxy out of an aerosol and it exceeded my expectation. It went on well, sprayed great, great coverage. I sprayed my engine bay and it provided a great base coat. I didn't even sand the epoxy afterwards because the epoxy sat flat!
Used this on my engine and when I went back to scrape and prep the gasket surfaces this stuff was stuck so tight I was totally impressed. I will use it under top coats from here on out. It's the bomb.
tried this on my 48 Plymouth. this was the first time to try something like this and it went on really nice. did a compare to another primer and you could clearly tell the difference.
Son is a professional painter and highly doubted the 2k can. Was very impressed after using the product. Would definitely use again
The product is great , I like the adjustable nozzle ,sprays nice. Happy with the epoxy primer in the can
Great product, easy to use, If you have small areas to cover this is a time saver, no mess, no clean up!
Used several cans so far and all sprayed real nice. Great for small to medium projects
Great for body and frame pieces.I will be using this on all of my auto work
